If anyone thought that Britney Spears and will.i.am wouldn't cook up a club banger for their latest collaboration, "Scream and Shout," you were very much wrong.

The track, off will's solo album #willpower, is an amped up dance-floor anthem, full of tempo changes, sassy one-liners and dubstep aplenty.

It opens with a chugging beat and Spears proclaiming in an accent, "When you hear this in the club, you're gonna turn this sh-- up/ When we up in the club all eyes on us/ See the boys in the club, they watchin' us/ Everybody in the club, all eyes on us."

While the song focuses on will's lyrics about having a good time in the club, true Britney-philes will go bananas over the chorus as it features a reference to Brit's "Gimme More." Brit's sweet singing voice harmonizes on the hook as they sing, "I wanna scream and shout and let it all out/ And scream and shout and let it out/ We sayin', 'Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh'/ We sayin', 'Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh'/ I wanna scream and shout and let it all out/ And scream and shout and let it out/ We sayin', 'Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh'."

The money line? "You are now-now rockin' with will.i.am and 'Britney bitch,' " the latter of which sounds like it is sampled right from the 2007 track.

The song leaked over the weekend, ahead of its official release on Monday (November 18). A video is still slated to drop on Thursday during "The X Factor," Billboard reports. "The young kids brought their game," will told the site about the forthcoming clip. "I don't want to say it's 'swag.' Because swag is... it's dope, but this is beyond swag. This is swag in reverse, which is gaws."

Britney teased that a remix may also be in the works when she tweeted about the leak on Twitter, thanking her fans for their support. "Can't say I'm thrilled our song leaked but...," she wrote. "I AM super excited that my fans seem to love it as much as @iamwill and I do."

"I'm so happy that people like #screanANDshout...thank you .@lazyjayofficial for the killer beat...," will added on his Twitter account. The track marks their second collaboration. They also worked together on her 2011 Femme Fatale track, "Big Fat Bass."

'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Twist Ending: Writer And Director Explain All!

Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Your prescient powers would have had to been on par with Alice Cullen's to have seen this coming: the shocking deaths of two Cullen coven vampires. Of course, it was all just part of an unfulfilled vision in the final moments of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2,", but it was a jaw-dropping twist nonetheless.

When MTV News caught up with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and director Bill Condon in the lead up to the film franchise's finale, we had to get the inside scoop on how the blood-soaked battle came to be.

"Stephenie [Meyer] and I were up in Vancouver at a steak house — I remember very, very clearly," Rosenberg said. "She was still trying to decide if she wanted 'Breaking Dawn' to be a film because she was very concerned [about] how do you do that ending? In the book, the ending is very much a very tense confrontation, but it's resolved in the conversation, and of course, for a film that is a very challenging place to be. So both of us were trying to figure out how do we make that cinematic? It's just that back and forth, and the idea hits — wait a second, it's all happening in Alice's mind. It's actually referred to in the book, we just don't see it in the book. So the beauty of film, you get to see it."

And, as it turns out, this reimagined conclusion went a long way towards convincing Condon to sign on to the two-part finale.

"When I got involved that was already in the treatment, and I don't think I would have made the movie if it hadn't been there because I think it was a great, great adjustment to the book," he said. "And it's still true to the book, you know, because there is a reason for it happening and it doesn't change the outcome of what happens."

Yet, it was a lengthy process deciding which beloved characters would meet their untimely, yet temporary, demises. (For their parts, actors Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone, who portray victims Carlisle Cullen and Jasper Hale, were good sports about being ripped to shreds.)

"For me, it was, who is the most shocking and whom — not whom do you love the most, but to me it's who gets the most bang for your buck?" Rosenberg recalled. "If you kill Carlisle, that's a lot of bang as opposed to someone you just met in this movie. I kind of tossed it around for a bit."

"We went back and forth," Condon agreed. "I spent three months [pre-visualizing] this before we shot anything. There were times where other people were dying ... Choosing which Cullen — it was maybe the sweetest of them [that] were the ones that bit the dust because it had the most emotional impact."

Avril Lavigne's Album With Chad Kroeger Coming 'Very Soon'

L.A. Reid dishes on his mentee's follow-up to Goodbye Lullaby, which features a track with her fiancé.

 

For fans hoping to hear what Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger were up to in the recording studio other than falling in love, soon they will get the chance to hear the song they created together.

L.A. Reid told Billboard that Lavigne's upcoming album, which features a "really good record" with her fiancé, will be out by the beginning of 2013 at the latest.

"We're in the mixing process now and I expect to release it very soon," Reid added about the "just-finished" record. "I'd like to get it out this year, but time seems to be flying. If we don't, it will be top of the new year."

(Kroeger and Lavigne announced their engagement last month. They met while they were working on the album earlier this summer, the follow-up to 2011's Goodbye Lullaby, which featured some help from her ex-husband, Sum 41's Deryck Whibley.)

Lavigne spoke to MTV News last year about reuniting with "X Factor" judge Reid at Epic Records. He discovered her and launched her to superstar status in the early part of the millennium.

"It's really exciting for me, because L.A. Reid signed me. He met me when I was 15, and he signed me on the spot. We did my first album together, and it was really successful and then what happens in the record industry, you know, changes are made," she told MTV News. "We didn't get to work together, and I was so bummed out, 'cause I never had that connection with anyone ever again, like, my whole career at the record company."

As for working with Kroeger, in the same interview, Lavigne made it clear she wanted to work with new folks on this album.

"In my new record coming up, I think I want to start off by working with people I've never worked with before because that's hard to do," she told MTV News. "When you don't know someone you have to go in and you write together and you're recording, you never know, you have to vibe together."

She added, "I'm trying to go for both sides. I love to rock out. I love to be crazy and have fun and have a more rock and roll aggressive side to me. But I also have a softer side and I wanted it also to be about my vocals... When you are having a good time making a record that always comes across in music. The energy's good so things flow better and that's what I'm excited about."

'Twilight' Movie Marathon: Five Survival Necessities

Before you post up at the theater to watch the series all over again, make sure you pack these must-haves.

Another week, another seven days we can cross off our countdown calendar for the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2." And now that we've been able to calm ourselves after the debut of the new trailer at the VMAs last week, it's time to look ahead to future "Twilight"-related excitement, by way of the news of the "Twilight" movie marathon.

The announcement came Monday that the marathon will be taking place at select theaters on November 15, beginning with an afternoon screening of "Twilight," followed by "New Moon," "Eclipse," "Breaking Dawn: Part 1," and finally culminating in the theatrical release of "Breaking Dawn: Part 2." Have you bought your tickets yet? Here are five items you'll need in order to survive the 10-plus-hour extravaganza:

Water
It's the building block of life, people. And since we're not built like the Cullens, we all need it to survive. The less sugar-added the better, although if any of you die-hard fans happened to stockpile that "Eclipse"-themed Vitamin Water from a few years back, that would make a welcome addition to the kit. I'm thinking 8 to 16 oz. per movie would be a good way to go, which means you'll have to plan visits to the restrooms strategically.

Sustenance
As enticing as movie theater treats always are, if you rely solely on buttered popcorn and candy to keep you going, chances are you're going to crash well before the tent scene (my favorite of the franchise!) in "Eclipse." Energy bars are a great idea because they're no-muss-no-fuss, for the most part, so is trail mix. Why not pack some fruit and veggies like apples and carrots? 5-Hour Energy may also be included in an "emergency reserve pack." "Twilight" fans have so many natural endorphins and enthusiasm they probably won't need any energy boosters.

Throat Lozenges
If there's one thing I know about "Twilight" movie screenings, it's that there is always lots of screaming. Now I certainly don't recommend holding yourself back in any way, this is the last hurrah after all, but be mindful of your vocal chords and don't forget they need TLC too. Don't leave home without a bag of your favorite throat lozenges or whatever throat coat remedy you prefer.

Smelling Salts
This item could also be included in the "emergency reserve pack," as it's more precautionary than anything. But it's a good idea to have some sort of revival aid on hand. You never know when you might reach "Edward Cullen overexposure" or be incapacitated by the abundance of Taylor Lautner abs. And if you don't need it, you'll be prepared to assist fellow fans with any fainting spells.

Phone chargers
This one might be one of the most important items on the list. How else are you going to be able to talk about and properly share the experience if you don't have the requisite juice to keep your phones/tweets/status updates powered up? I know there are a couple of self-powered battery packs out there on the market, which would be ideal in this scenario so you don't have to fight other fans for outlet space.

One Direction Get Campy With 'Live While We're Young' Art

The One Direction guys had a little treat for all the Directioners on Friday (September 14). They released the artwork for their "Live While We're Young" single on Twitter, weeks ahead of the single's October 1 release.

The "*amazing* new artwork," as they called it on Twitter, features the fivesome enjoying the outdoors during a camping trip, goofing off outside a tent. Shortly after they released the image, Liam Payne tweeted, "Cant wait for the single to come outtttt."

Perhaps camping is pop's latest pastime, as Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City pitched a tent for their "Good Time" video earlier this summer.

The 1D boys will also take their antics outside for the "Live While We're Young" video. Shot back in August when the guys were in their native U.K., the video has a summer music festival vibe and has the guys getting wet and wild, acting silly with props and getting soaked by water guns.

"Live While We're Young" is the lead single off the boys' sophomore album release, Take Me Home. Out November 13, the album features work from Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk — the team that also worked with the guys on their debut, including the hits "One Thing" and "What Makes You Beautiful." They also worked with fellow Up All Night alum, Ed Sheeran, who tells MTV News he wrote love songs for the guys.

"Seventeen-year-old Ed just wrote a lot of love songs, so expect to hear a lot of love songs on their album, I guess," he shared with MTV News about the vintage jams he gave his pals this time around.

'Mission: Impossible' Still #1 In 2012

'Ghost Protocol,' the fourth 'M:I' movie, made $134 million in 17 days.

Tom Cruise's domination of the holidays continued as "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" remained the #1 movie at the box office, taking in $31.3 million over the New Year's weekend. The fourth entry in the action franchise made an estimated $134 million in just 17 days, which is about what "Mission: Impossible III" made during its entire theatrical run.

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" was the runner-up in the box office race, collecting $22.1 million during its second weekend in theaters for $132.1 million total. Robert Downey Jr.'s second outing as the famous detective of classic literature carried an estimated production budget of $90 million.

"Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," the third movie in the series, came in third on the New Year's box office scorecard. "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" jumped 45 percent from last weekend with $18.3 million for a $94.6 million total, which is about $45 million behind where the first "Alvin and the Chipmunks" stood at the same point in its run.

Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" was in a close race for the #4 spot with David Fincher's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." "War Horse" took in an estimated $16.4 million (for a $42.9 million total) while "Dragon Tattoo" earned another $16.8 million, which was a 16 percent increase from the weekend before. The first American adaptation of the popular Swedish novel has made a total of $57.1 million. Filmmaker Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo" was #5 with $14.3 million for a $41.8 million total.

Garry Marshall's critically reviled ensemble rom-com "New Year's Eve" doubled its previous weekend, thanks no doubt to the arrival of the holiday for which it's named. The follow-up to "Valentine's Day" has made just $46.4 million since its release, however, and 93 percent of film critics panned the flick, according to film review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

Looking back at the 2011 box office, the final "Harry Potter" film was #1 overall with its $381 million gross. "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" was just behind with $352.3 million. Rounding out the top five were "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" ($275.4 million), "The Hangover Part II" ($254.4 million) and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" ($241 million).

Justin Timberlake 'Seriously' Considering Elton John Role

Elton John calls JT '#1 on my wish list' to portray him in upcoming biopic.

We may not be 100 percent sure of his current relationship status, but we can confirm that Justin Timberlake is getting very serious with Elton John.

We think. In response to John's claims that Timberlake is "#1 on my wish list" to portray the singer in an upcoming biopic — he told the Los Angeles Times that JT's portrayal of him in the David LaChapelle-directed "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore" video was "superb" — Timberlake is apparently "seriously" weighing the role, according to E! Online.

"Justin is taking it very seriously," a source "close to the singer" told E!'s Ted Casablanca. "He's working with his people to figure out exactly how to respond."

Casablanca also writes that "a very official response will be coming from Camp Timberlake momentarily," though, at press time, that response had yet to materialize.

In his Times interview, John said the film version of his life is "very much in the works," with a script penned by Lee Hall ("Billy Elliot") and an unnamed director "onboard." He also said that the biopic would be far different from the average Hollywood fare, which, given John's larger-than-life existence, shouldn't really be all that shocking.

"It's going to be a surreal look at my life, and not just a factual look at my life, more in the manner of a 'Moulin Rouge!' " John said. "I just don't want it to be a normal biopic because my life hasn't been like that. And it only goes up to when I go into rehab in 1990. It starts with me going into rehab and ends when I come out."

'Akira' Movie Shut Down To Reassess Budget

Though "Akira" has had significant developments in recent months — including potentially adding Kristen Stewart to the cast — Warner Bros. has shut down production on the live-action adaptation of the classic anime and manga.

For years, "Akira" had been an on-again, off-again production, with the likes of Keanu Reeves and Albert Hughes involved at one point. But the most recent attempt at the film — with "Unknown" director Jaume Collet-Serra and "Harry Potter" screenwriter Steve Kloves retouching the script — made the most progress on the property to date, getting as far as casting Garrett Hedlund as Kaneda, the lead.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story of the shutdown, citing a source close to the production. According to the report, Warner Bros. closed the Vancouver production offices in order to reassess the budget, which the studio feared was too high. Over the next two weeks, producers will meet with Collet-Serra to work on the script with an eye on reducing costs. Insiders claim that Warner Bros. is looking to reduce the $90 million budget to the realm of $60 million or $70 million.

The proposed $90 million was already half of what it was for Hughes' production. Lowering the budget to that level was one of the accomplishments under Collet-Serra's version of the film, along with casting Hedlund in the lead and eyeing high-profile stars for the supporting roles.

Kristen Stewart, Ken Watanabe and Helena Bonham-Carter were three of the stars in various stages of negotiations to join the film. The "Twilight" star had reportedly been offered the female lead as Kei, while Watanabe stepped up for the Colonel after Gary Oldman turned down the role.

Sources close to the production tell THR that despite the setback, "Akira" is far from dead, saying, "It's a very resilient movie. Warner Bros. just won't let it die."

Alice Eve 'Proud' Of Upcoming 2012 Films

Roles in 'The Raven' and 'Men in Black 3' make her One to Watch in 2012.

Alice Eve has been flirting with crossing over into the big time for a while now. The British actress has been stealing scenes and impressing co-stars left and right from her first big feature "Starter for 10," to "She's Out of My League," "Sex and the City 2" and last year's stint on "Entourage."

Soon, you can see Eve in two of the year's most highly anticipated films — "The Raven" and "Men in Black 3" — and as such, she is one of MTV Movies' Ones to Watch in 2012.

We recently caught up with Eve to talk about her plans for 2012 and what she loves about her upcoming roles:

MTV: What are you most looking forward to this year?

Alice Eve: Apart from the fact that I have two very cool movies coming out that I'm proud of? It's great, because that doesn't happen every year, but I'm always a little reluctant to embrace a new year too much, because I think it puts pressure on to have expectations. I'm just glad to see another year through hopefully. I think I am a realist. I hope for the health of my family and friends, and other than that, just keep doing what I do.

MTV: In this day and age, more people might be familiar with "Men in Black" than Edgar Allan Poe and "The Raven." How would you explain Poe and "The Raven" to those who aren't familiar with either?

Eve: Poe is kind of the godfather to the modern horror genre as championed by Tim Burton. It's very much in the tradition of dark, deep anxieties imagined and then writ large, like having a man buried underground alive and the "Tell-Tale Heart," which is incredibly readable, it's so short. That's a good entry into [Poe's] work. Our movie is called "The Raven," after his poem, which also deals with anxiety. In that period, there was Freud and this birth of cognitive consciousness and people realizing we have complicated minds. He was a father of darkness in a way, and my Emily Hamilton fell deeply in love with him, as we do. Women like dark. John Cusack played a dark and great Poe, and my character came from the light and got taken down to the dark.

MTV: How would you describe the universal appeal and intrigue of dark men?

Eve: It's just sort of honest. To pretend we don't have a deep, dark soul inside all of us — everyone pretends it's happy, but there's always another side to that story. A dark man gives license to that side of yourself. I'm not sure it's a great commitment for life — I don't think Edgar Allan Poe would have been the man I would have hoped my daughter would marry — but you can't help who you love. And he's brilliant. The character I play fell in love with a brilliant, talented man, who, as we've seen, will be remembered for centuries, so you can forgive her for that.

MTV: Is "The Raven" a standalone film, or is there potential for prequels or sequels?

Eve: I say in a very proud way that I think it is a one-off, but I don't know if there is hope for a sequel. I know that it is a standalone story with a really magnificent script that was cleverly engineered, so it is a complete thriller. I don't think it is a cliffhanger, but you never know, do you? It's nice to do a movie that is a standalone piece. Hopefully, it is a satisfying thriller.

MTV: With regard to "Men in Black," you play a young version of Emma Thompson's character. What was your reaction when you heard you were playing a young Emma Thompson?

Eve: I was so happy, because she's an icon, she's wonderful, and she's also that multitalented triple, quadruple threat. She's won an Oscar for screenplay and actress. She's magnificent. And so I was so happy that I actually got to spend time with her, which is what it meant when I got the role. I did spend time with her, and she was everything and more that you hoped she would be, with an incredibly quick mind. It was great. "Men in Black," for me, was a wonderful experience. They shot it in New York. Anything that takes you to New York and pays you to do it is ridiculous. Amazing. Then Will Smith is the most entertaining man; he doesn't stop. I don't know where his energy comes from, but he has a lot of it. For me, it was so positive. I just saw a tiny bit of it today, and it looks fantastic, because it goes back in time, which is a very clever ploy.

MTV: Did you have to do much CGI or green-screen work?

Eve: There wasn't for me. My character is very much based in a sexist '60s reality, so there's not much going on except an office chauvinistic environment that I work in, which also gives birth to comedy.

MTV: Watching things from that era always reminds me how grateful I am to have been born when I was.

Eve: Aren't we lucky? We are so lucky. It's crazy what women had to put up with.

MTV: So is this role a one-off for you as well, or is there potential for more Agent Oh in future films?

Eve: I think that if they make a fourth one, she could carry on, yeah.

Jack White's Appearance On 'American Pickers' Not As Crazy As It Sounds

The White Stripes may have called it quits earlier this year, but we’ve seen and heard plenty from former frontman Jack White since their demise. Adding yet another eccentric appearance to the list is word that White will appear on the History Channel’s “American Pickers” next week.

The show is admittedly addictive, following two friends/business partners as they scour various barns, homes and junkyards across the country in search of hidden antiques. The episode is set to air at 9PM EST on January 9 and will feature pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fitz as they visit White’s Third Man Studios and label home in Nashville. The two will reportedly barter with the music icon over memorabilia, which will include the photo booth used in the music video for “Hang You From the Heavens” by one of White’s many musical projects, The Dead Weather.

White certainly has not used his newfound freedom to retire into hiding – quite the opposite actually – as the singer has managed to stay in the headlines with several studio collaborations. And, as always with Jack, you must expect the unexpected. From Insane Clown Posse to the Jigga Man, here are our five favorite random Jack White collabs, which all somehow make total sense.

Obviously, this is the biggest “WTF?” to get out of the way. White shocked bloggers everywhere when he teamed up with the freaky clown duo and dropped a German-titled single, “Leck Mich Im Arsch” (“Lick me in the arse,” get it?), in September of this year. Adding to the weird factor is that the song uses a classical melody dating back to Mozart. No word on if a full-blown album is in the works.

Jay-Z

Everyone was pretty excited about White working in the studio with Jay-Z when he mentioned the fact to GQduring an ’10 interview. However, here we are officially in 2012 and a joint track has yet to surface. A studio pic is all they have to show for it.

Stephen Colbert

For those unaware of Colbert’s musical history, his 1980s new wave band, Stephen and the Colberts, recorded a single in 2006, “Charlene (I’m Right Behind You).” Earlier this summer, Colbert dropped his follow-up single "Charlene II (I’m Over You)" with the help of Jack White and the Black Belles as his backing band. They even cruised NYC in White’s rolling record store selling copies of the single.

Danger Mouse’s Rome

When Danger Mouse, producer of the Black Keys newest hit record, was looking for vocalists to fill-out his Spaghetti Western-inspired project with Italian composer Daniele Luppi – Rome – he found one in Jack White (along with Norah Jones). White provided vocals on three songs for the project, which was five years in the making.

Jack White and Conan sure seem to be pretty good chums. For starters, Conan is heavily featured in the zany White Stripes’ music video for “The Denial Twist,” directed by Michel Gondry. Next, the White Stripes played Conan’s somber, final “Late Night” episode. Finally, White released two singles featuring Conan in August 2010. The first was a duet of the two covering Eddie Cochran’s “20 Flight Rock,” while the other single “And They Call Me Mad?” was a spoken-word retelling of the Frankenstein legend from O’Brien.

Bands We Like: Ghostland Observatory

Too often I fall victim to the classic “judging a book by its cover” and miss out on a great band simply because of their name (Foster the People, anyone?). A few years ago, I recall seeing “Ghostland Observatory” emblazoned seemingly everywhere I looked: magazines, music news, festival lineups. What the heck does it even mean? To this day, I have no freakin’ clue, but I’ve been making up for lost time by catching their concerts – a digital light show extravaganza – at every opportunity and preaching their greatness to anyone within earshot.

Surprisingly, Ghostland is just a duo of best buds from a place where it’s cool to be weird: Austin, Texas. Thomas Ross Turner mans the drums/keys/synthesizers, providing most of the signature Ghostland digital bleeps and blurps that the band is famous for. He frequently, or pretty much always, dons a cape, which I can’t help but think Charlie Day (from “It’s Always Sunny”) would love to wear as his Nightman character.

Frontman Aaron Behrens is an instantaneous party-starter. He’s usually rockin’ some Native American-inspired braids and dark shades (likely to help keep the lasers from blinding him) and he’s known to strap on a guitar for a few songs at each show. One thing you’ll quickly notice about Behrens when performing is the man does not stop moving ever – his energy and dance moves would give the late James Brown a run for his money. Their concerts contain the same atmosphere of pure and utter joy that you’d find at a typical Flaming Lips gig – a cozy place to be indeed.

The group was first conceived in 2003 and they’ve been notorious road warriors ever since. They eventually dropped their debut delete.delete.i.eat.meat two years after their inception on a label created by Turner, Trashy Moped Recordings. For a band just starting out, it’s impressive that Ghostland found their sound right away asdelete is ten tacks of pure pop-synth awesomeness – there is no filler to be found. “Silver City” sounds like it was concocted among the stars in space with Behren singing some all-too-appropriate lyrics -- “I think that I have found myself out on the floor / And I think that we have lost ourselves forever more” – because yeah, their tunes will inspire you to spend eternity on the dance floor.

Wasting no time, Ghostland released their sophomore album, Paparazzi Lightning, just a year later in 2006. The album contains several strong tracks: “Move With Your Lover” will make you want to do just that; “Vibrate” has one catchiest song openings ever (“I said vibrate!”); while “Sad Sad City” is a pure Ghostland dance frenzy. Their third effort, Robotique Majestique once again dropped ten hard-hitting dance pop tracks. The low-end crunchy bass found on “Freeheart Lover” will crawl all over your skin in the best way imaginable, while “Club Soda” is the go-to track for cruisin’ the highway at midnight.

Last year’s Codename: Rondo brought forth one of the catchiest songs of their career: “Freeze.” The track opens with a piping synth beat that sounds like something out of an old NES game. The song’s title becomes apparent when Behrens mimics a police officer, saying in a faux police voice, “Freeze, it’s the police / Put your hands where I can see ‘em / Get down,” which is when the beat truly drops.

Without the push of a major label and little-to-no advertising, Ghostland has managed to appear on late night television and perform at damn near every festival that exists in the states. Like ‘em or not, their music will light a fire under your feet and force you to groove. Just look at the pic I took – you can’t even see the band, but you can most certainly see thousands of people having the time of their life with a glow stick of solidarity being held high among a sea of lasers. Do yourselves a favor: listen, see, and fall in love.

Anything can happen as front-runners and dark horses duke it out for the top spot in our tourney.

What a ride it's been so far in the MTV Movie Brawl 2012! After more than a quarter million votes, fans have whittled down the competition from an opening round of 32 films to a 16-flick bracket topped by #1 seeds "Hunger Games" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."

Now that the pretenders and also-rans have been axed — See ya later "Expendables 2"! Thanks for playing "Rock of Ages"! — it's time for the big guns to face off. Let's get right to it.

Upper West Region

Otherwise known as the Robert Pattinson Honorary Region, this section of the bracket features three RPattz films. While we love seeing the 3-D re-release of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" sneaking into the Sweet 16 after a wild-card win in round one, George Lucas' baby doesn't have much of a shot to knock "Breaking Dawn" from its perch atop the bracket. Twi-fans came out in force over the weekend to conquer "Hunger Games" and assure itself the highest vote total of round one. So Pattinson and his vampire pals have got to be feeling good as voting moves forward. Things are much more up in the air in the region's other matchup: "Cosmopolis" vs. "Bel Ami." Will Pattinson fans favor his cerebral, David Cronenberg-directed drama or his Uma Thurman-co-starring love story, which holds out the prospect of, as RPattz himself told us, "a lot of my crack in it." This matchup is just too close to call at this point.

Lower West Region

This region is all about the superheroes, though neither "Dark Knight Rises," "The Amazing Spider-Man" nor "Marvel's The Avengers" performed heroically in the first round. The MTV Movies team had been eyeing "TDKR" as one of the films to beat headed into the tournament, but fans didn't turn out to support Christopher Nolan's final Batman film in the numbers we expected. "Avengers" managed to nab a six seed, but Captain America and his crew had better bring their A-games if they want to give "TDKR" a run for its money. By contrast, "Spider-Man," which barely survived round one, is going to have to deliver nothing short of an inspired performance if it expects to knock off "Dark Shadows." Tim Burton's adaptation of the supernatural soap opera announced itself as a potential dark horse after an impressive and unexpected first-round showing. An Elite Eight showdown between "Dark Shadows" and "Dark Knight" would make for a kick-ass brawl.

Upper East Region

"Hunger Games" enters the Sweet 16 with a bit of wind taken out of its sails, following its failure to garner the most round-one votes after leading for most of the week. Its new matchup is a pivotal one, and a blowout of "Prometheus" would go a long way toward assuring fans that "Hunger Games" has its eye locked squarely on a final matchup with "Breaking Dawn." But before we get there, "Hunger Games" will have to contend with two action flicks, in "John Carter" and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," that have been surging in recent days. "G.I. Joe" didn't even look like it was going to make the Sweet 16 until a last-minute rise. That sequel could potentially play the spoiler in this four-seed vs. five-seed matchup.

Lower East Region 

Anything can happen in this region. Based on its pedigree, you might expect "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" to run roughshod over anything at this point in the tournament. But Peter Jackson's flick faces off against Emma Watson's "Perks of Being a Wallflower," a wild-card entrant that can easily spoil the hopes of everyone in Middle-earth. This matchup to just too close to call. And don't count out another upset in the game between "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "The Woman in Black." Though "SWATH" has a lot of heat behind it, based on a top-notch trailer and the leadership of Kristen Stewart, you underestimate Daniel Radcliffe's fans at your own peril. But which star has the most feverish following? The answer to that question will likely reveal which film moves on to the Elite Eight in the MTV Movie Brawl 2012.

Assessing Coachella 2012: Expected Headliners Lead An Awesome Undercard

Here's my take on the lineup for Coachella 2012, which was revealed Monday night: At least it's not the fake onethat was making the rounds in November.

Back then, the rumored headliners were No Doubt, Foo Fighters and Radiohead, with acts like Chris Cornell, Feist and LMFAO (!) on the sub-ledger. It was a pretty good guess (I mean, they got Radiohead), but would have made for a pretty bland weekend … which is why it comes as a great relief that the actual Coachella lineup does not feature a single member of Berry Gordy's extended family. Instead, we get headliners the Black Keys, the aforementioned Radiohead and the double-bill of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg — all solid, all worth the price of admission and all filling various slots (the new kings of rock, the established, professorial legends and, uh, the hip-hop act) — and an undercard that ranks amongst the best in the fest's history.

Of course, the usual suspects are all accounted for (Bon Iver, Beirut, the Shins, Florence and the Machine, Justice, et al), but it's the spate of reunited acts — always a Coachella tradition — that really makes this year's edition truly special: Britpop titans Pulp, the gauzy, gorgeous Mazzy Star, doomy instrumentalists Godspeed You! Black Emperor and a pair of proto-punk stalwarts — art-damaged Texas thrusters At The Drive In and Sweden's Refused, who, with their oddly prescient 1998 album The Shape Of Punk To Come, basically predicted the next ten years of angular, angsty rock — all of whom elevate Coachella 2012 to can't-miss status.

There's also the Arctic Monkeys, M83, Noel Gallagher (and his High Flying Birds), Jeff Mangum, Cat Power, Girls, Tim Armstrong and Jimmy Cliff, Frank Ocean and the Horrors … all of whom I would (or have) pay good money to see on their own. And sure, purists may point to the overabundance of fist-pumping dance acts on the bill — Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Kaskade, Avici, etc — as evidence of Coachella's downfall, but, hey, at least they represent fest organizers' attempts to reflect the current state of popular music, and perhaps even forecast the future. Coachella can't always be about nostalgia, after all.

So, yes, I'm pumped. Yes, I will be there. And even if you have reservations about this year's Coachella (too many DJs! too boring headliners!) at least you can take solace in the fact that the undercard packs a serious, once-in-a-lifetime wallop. And absolutely no LMFAO. Small victories, people.

Justin Timberlake's Newest Pet Project: Myspace TV

MySpace got off to an early start at this year’s CES (Consumer Electronics Show) yesterday in Las Vegas with co-owner Justin Timberlake announcing the company’s latest attempt at staying relevant, MySpace TV.

"We’re ready to take television and entertainment to the next step by upgrading it to the social networking experience. Why text or email your friends to talk about your favorite programs after they’ve aired when you could be sharing the experience with real-time interactivity from anywhere across the globe?” he stated in his presentation. (How about watching television with your friends in-person? Whatever happened to that?)

Apparently, the service will allow you to essentially watch a program and share or comment with your friends online about it, whilst viewing the content in real-time. You can also invite your friends to watch a program with you and join online fan communities.

The presentation mentioned that initial channels will be music-focused and get some good use out of the website’s library of 100,000 music videos and over 42 million songs. Although, it is noted that they will eventually go beyond the world of music and work “to encompass movies, news, sports and reality channels, with a growing lineup of today’s most popular broadcast and on-demand content.”

Of course, an app of the service will soon be available on tablets and smartphones.

“MySpace was the first successful social network because it allowed individuals to share their interests, listen to music, express their creativity and connect around the things they love,” stated MySpace CEO Tim Vanderhook.

No word on an exact launch date, but our advice to Justin would be to make his next album strictly available through a special MySpace music store. Now that would bring the website of yesteryear back to its former glory.

Russell Brand Slides Off Wedding Ring In Pre-Divorce Video

Comedian jokingly removed band in November announcement for his college tour.

A little over a month before he announced he would be taking off his wedding ring for good, Russell Brandjokingly took off his band when he announced his college tour. The video announcement, which he (and Katy Perry) posted in mid-November, seems to be getting some attention thanks to Brand's pre-split jovial nature about removing his ring and learning about what happens in sorority houses.

He opens the clip saying, "Hello Americans! This is a time of terrific change and the perfect time for me to go on a tour." He then rambles on about American college life, adding, "I don't know nothing about your college culture. This, for me, is going to be an educational experience.

"Now in each of these cases I want to meet people from sororities and fraternities," he continued. "I don't know what a sorority is except for the things I've seen on Nudevista; that they are sort of sex clubs for women. Fraternities, that's a bit like the film 'Animal House' or 'Social Network.' These are the only references I have."

Noting that he hoped to create worlds of "decadence" on the road, he further teased, "We are going to change college life forever. First of all, I'm going to understand it, then we're going to change it, and then we're gonna try and understand the new version."

As the video ends, Brand slides off his ring, with this message, "This is going to be a week of revolution, a week of occupation, and, more important, I'm going to learn firsthand about sororities. I'm going to place this somewhere very, very safe for the next week," he said about his ring.

At the time, his former wife tweeted her support for the shows. In fact, she was the person who tweeted out the video originally. "My [foul] mouthed Hubby @rustyrockets is playing a few mid-west/east-coast shows starting tonight onwards!" she wrote. "SUPPORT!"

The video's resurgence comes just one day after Perry announced she'd no longer attend Wednesday's People's Choice Awards.

Daniel Radcliffe 'Very Excited' To Host 'SNL'

'It's the real deal. You live or die on that show,' Radcliffe tells MTV News.

Daniel Radcliffe made the jump to Broadway star shortly after ending his run as the world's most famous boy wizard, but on Saturday, he's taking an even bigger step: He's hosting "Saturday Night Live."

Radcliffe knew that's not something you do without some careful consideration, and he told MTV News' Josh Horowitz that he had to give it some thought before agreeing to host. "I had to think about it a little bit, because it's the real deal. You live or die on that show," he said. "Ultimately, it was a no-brainer because I was working with John Larroquette [in 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying'] at the time as well. He hosted a bunch of times when he was younger."

Not that it took a lot of convincing. Radcliffe also just really wanted to work with the castmembers he admires. "I love Seth Meyers. Bill Hader, I think, is just unbelievable. That Alan Alda impression, just mind-blowing," he said.

Part of what is so enticing to Radcliffe about hosting is the immense challenge of it. "It will be the kind of stuff I like, that kind of guerrilla style of getting stuff done when you just have to get it done," he said. "Nothing else matters. You have to do it. You have to achieve. By the end of the week, you're going to be putting on an hour-and-a-half music-and-comedy show from scratch."

Work for Radcliffe's episode started on Monday, and the actor said he is "very excited," and he is even bringing some ideas of his own. "But they're going to be crap," Radcliffe said. "I've got a couple ideas, yes, but I don't know that mine are going to end up onscreen because they've got a very experienced team of writers there."

'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Has Us Pumped For Fresh Blood

'Twilight' Tuesday looks forward to all the vampires making their debut in the November 2012 finale.

Looking ahead to November, when we finally get to see the end of the "Twilight" franchise in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," there are many things to get excited about. For starters, Bella is now a vampire, Renesmee is growing up and the Volturi are back.

But what I am most looking forward to are all the fresh vampires. There are so many new characters, not to mention the fun involved in the adventurous search for allies, getting the group together, bonding over things like eating habits and fighting against the Volturi.

Therefore, in the spirit of MTV Movies' Ones to Watch in 2012, this "Twilight" Tuesday is dedicated to the ones to watch in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" — which if you didn't already know, is also a big part of our MTV Movie Brawl 2012.

Before I get to my favorite new additions, "Twilight" vampire expert and star Peter Facinelli had these kind words to say about a few of his new castmates when MTV News caught up with him: "There's Maggie Grace; she's fantastic. Christian Camargo is fantastic and Juilliard-trained. I always wish I went to Juilliard, so when I meet people from Juilliard, I'm always jealous," he said. "Mia Maestro — there's so many talented people that were tapped. It's a much larger cast."

Clearly, Facinelli has a thing for the Denali coven, which we got a glimpse of in "Part 1" during Bella and Edward's wedding. The Denali clan is another group of vegetarian vamps consisting of Irina (Grace), former Volturi Eleazar (Camargo) and his multilingual mate Carmen (Maestro).

The Denalis are, indeed, a nice bunch. My personal favorite new vampire, however, is Garrett, the American nomad played by charming and adorable actor Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies," "The Fall"). I remember liking him from the moment Stephenie Meyer introduced him, due to the 6-foot-2 factor, his curiosity and his adventurous nature. His character has a nice arc, which I'll avoid spoiling fully here, and Pace is the absolute perfect actor to play him.

Fellow fan and creator of the Kristen Stewart Hot Bodyguard Facebook page Sarah M. also brought up JD Pardo, who plays the other vamp/human hybrid Nahuel. "He was super nice at the BD1 premiere & ain't too hard on the eyes either!" she tweeted.
